“I have mixed feelings about Jacob’s BSG recaps on TWOP. Yes, they can be a bit, uh, overwritten and pretentious (my current theory is that The Hybrid is his ghostwriter), but they can also be quite interesting. Tonight I decided to see if he’d posted a recaplet, because those tend to be much more straightforward and even funny at times. Plus, I’m bored. So I clicked on the show page and noticed that he’d already finished the full recap. Huh! That was quick! Then I clicked on it. The recap for

Twin Cities red light blogging district

I was quite intrigued earlier this month when our local CBS station, WCCO, announced their plans for a local ad network for bloggers. I applied immediately, thinking to myself that I’d probably be rejected due to the typically vulgar nature of my posts. However, I was still excited about the prospect of bringing in a little extra cash. Soon after the announcement, I learned that Max Sparber had his personal blog summarily rejected by the ad network for its “risque” content and lack of Twin Citie

reflection

Posted By in Uncategorized

I wanted to thank all of you so much for writing in with your feedback to my last post. I feel so loved and supported… thank you! After listening to all of your thoughts, and many more of my own, I think I am just going to take one month off of blogging, internet reading, and being “out there”. Soak in some reflection time and refresh my senses. Tomorrow I am starting a five-week healing course in yoga and this little break lines up perfectly with that. (Another sign from the universe, I think

NPM ‘08: One of the Most Beloved Poems…Ever

Posted By in Uncategorized

The 23rd Psalm (KJV) The LORD is my shepherd; I shall not want. He maketh me to lie down in green pastures: he leadeth me beside the still waters. He restoreth my soul: he leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his name’s sake. Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me. Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies: thou anointest my head with oil; my cup runneth over.

Shadow Poetry

Posted By in Uncategorized

This is pretty cool: The One Day Poem Pavilion. Using a complex array of perforations, the pavilion’s surface allows light to pass through creating shifting patterns, which-during specific times of the year-transform into the legible text of a poem. The specific arrangements of the perforations reveal different shadow-poems according to the solar calendar: a theme of new-life during the summer solstice, a reflection on the passing of time at the period of the winter solstice. You can watch

#1209: Pps. 9-17, A Treasury of Humorous Poetry

Posted By in Uncategorized

A Treasury of Humorous Poetry continues. This time, one of my ethnic oxen is gored, so you can tell I mean it about giving some love to dialect poetry! We also have a couple of ballads of romantic love gone wrong, a retelling of Robinson Crusoe’s contented castaway life, and a slice of parental life. Pps. 9-17. “Widow MacShane” by Robert Henry Newell (writing as ‘Orpheus C. Kerr’) “Robinson Crusoe” by Charles Edward Carryl “The Ballad of the Oysterman” by Oliver Wendell Holmes “Only Seven

I’ve a passion for News and keep looking for good articles. Today, I checked if I could find more info by entering ‘greek drama’ in Google and found this: A magazine, “We Got Next,” showcasing new artists in their respective categories i. e. writing, poetry, art, drama, music. … Also, a series of anthologies, “On the Yard,” geared toward current students and former students of historically black colleges and universities and a Greek organization f or those persons in the arts…. source:
